I would take a look at the "open box" buys at retail stores. I got a $500 JVC hard drive camcorder at best buy for $90 because it didn't have any of the accessories like the battery or charger. It was originally priced for $250 but the salesman dropped the price to $200 then added in an a/v cable, charger, and usb cable (which I already had). He added up all of that stuff separately and had to drop the price of the camcorder to get it all under $200. I later returned all the cables and chargers and ordered a battery online for cheap. Now this might not happen often but from what I was told by the manager of the camcorder department there was that they have to send back the open box stuff if they don't sell it, and that makes it really easy to talk them down on the price because the camcorder doesn't come with everything that a new one does and in there eyes your taking a risk getting an open box item anyways. Give it a try and see how cheap you can get one for. Then again you could always wait for black friday to get here. I would stay away from some of those online retailers though. Most of their stuff is refurbished and will end up breaking down on you. At least with your retail chain you can get an extended warrenty so that if something does happen to your camera they will replace it.

connect the camcorder's DV port (no longer USB) on your computing device's firewire port (no longer USB) on the Macintosh or domicile windows computing device. on the grounds which you probably did no longer let us know which computing device you're employing, we've not any thank you to comprehend in the journey that your computing device has a Firewire port - of in case you cadd one if there is no longer already one obtainable. No, a firewire cable replaced into no longer interior the container with the camcorder - yet a USB cable replaced into. The USB cable is for paying for stills off the memory stick in basic terms. in the journey that your computing device has no firewire port, observe that USB-to-firewire cable/adapter/converter issues won't artwork - it somewhat is the case for the two domicile windows and Macintosh based computers... on the grounds that we don't comprehend which computing device you have, we don't comprehend in case you opt for a 4-pin to 4-pin firewire cable, 4-pin to 6-pin firewire cable or 4-pin to 9-pin firewire cable. The DV port on the ZR500 is 4-pin - the different area of the cable corresponds on your computing device's firewire port. in the journey that your computing device is one that does no longer have a firewire port - or there is not any obtainable growth slot which you will place in one, the only workarounds i can think of of are employing yet another computing device (with an exterior problematic stress) that does have a working firewire port or importing analog video employing the camcorder's AV port and AV cable and an "analog/digital converter". As for the video on the memory card - it somewhat is amazingly notably compressed, and that compression discarded quite some video information. you presently comprehend what happens while video gets compressed plenty. there is not any thank you to advance the video high quality. As you're making the video window/physique greater, the image gets greater blurry.
