We have a Sony handicam and love it. It uses a CD so there is no converting or down loading. Good luck and God Bless!

Go to a store, look at the camcorders that record to mini dvd, there are several, and pick one that meets your requirements. Find it online, buy it. Personally I prefer Canon.

get Hitachi or Sony when it comes to camcorder and make sure it has 1080p logo... and I think mini dvd is old technology... get one that record Blu-ray disc instead because of bigger storage size.

I have a Sony and it is a Sony Handy cam DCR-TRV270E
I think it is very easy to use and quite a reasonable price.
Hope this helps

They are not many, but, if you can it is easy to get one that records on Digital tape, and iff you get a firewire cable, it is just as good, and more cost affective
