Sometimes, when I get scared at night, I record myself talking, because hearing my voice played back is kind of comforting.

When I take videos at night, there is always an audible screeching sound in the background of the video. It sounds sort of like a siren, but it it scratchier, and it fluctuates more. My camera is in good shape, and this only appears in videos I take at night. It's starting to freak me out a little. Is there a logical explanation for this?

They are both cables. I thought cables have nothing to do with quality. The only differences are the speeds. Why cant i use USB 2.0 with my camcorder? Why does firewire provide the better video quality for camcorder?

PS my camcorder does not have USB streaming.

I hav a JVC GR-D244U, and I was wondering if I can use a regular 4 pin to 6 pin Firewire cable to conncet it to my computer instead of the one made by JVC. The instructions say to make sure that I am using the JVC cable, but is there a chance that any firewire cable would work?

my hi-8 video camera fell on the carpeted floor last night and the only thing wrong with it now is the casing is messed up at the top. there are 3 screws near the area were its protruding out. we tried snaping it back into place. it looks like an easy fix but i was wondering if it would be safe enough to unscrew those and snap it back in place. Or should i have a professional do it?

I am thinking of purchasing the Canon HV20 HDD, but I want to know if it will meet Canadian or American Broadcast Standards. The reason for this, is that where we are going is dangerous, and a heavy and large camera would be an additional worry. Does anyone out there know if one can use this camera for raw footage for eventual television broadcast? If not, can someone suggest a camera that is very; portable, small and meets these standards.

Thank You
Dennis

I saw the tape a citizen made of a cop threatining him with making up charges, caught on his dashboard camera w/ mic and thought that would not be a bad idea to install it in my car. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any web site that says they sell them and/or install them. Any ideas?

My camcorder does not have a switch or menu feature to disable this feature and the Beachtek adapter I have only provides limited improvements to the audio, doing nothing to disable the audio AGC. So how do you get around this feature for more professional results?

I'm just looking for a pretty basic camcorder. Is the picture clear with the Mini DV camcorders? I've heard that it's at least equal to or better than VHS movies, which for home videos is not so bad.

I Have this mid-90's Hitachi WM-E410A 8mm Camcorder. It has 24X Zoom, and stabilisation. It has RCA Cable inputs, and some 20-hole (Close to square)Jack/Input. It has a remote, and no battery, if that helps. How can i convert these 8mm's to my computer and put them on YouTube? Anything helps!

Have you ever had that experience? I will be making my first wedding video with one camera only very soon. Some people tell me that two cameras coverage is more convenient . That I understand but the deal is already in with one camera only. I have my doubts of how to cover the moment of the ceremony with the priest, bride, groom, and people at the same time. Any ideas on this matter are highly appreciated.

I am videotaping a wedding very soon, with a single camera. I want to get most of the priest speech in the DVD and at the same time the ceremony from different angles. To achieve that I am thinking in getting a portable device that allowes me to get the priest speech without having to be recording his face all the time. The reason for this is because I will be cutting here and there in order to get the ceremony fron different angles. Now, how do I do that? How do I record his voice to get a nice sound (I dont think that a tape recorder is the best option since the quality will suffer) Any ideas? Your help will be highly appreciated.
