I use Panasonic miniDV camcorder for wedding, AG series. But really frustrated with the poor recorded sound from an attached microphone, even it is set to maximum gain. I used Panasonic VHS camera before, the sound was very good. Anyone who came across this problem please help me

one thing to check on the miniDV is whether it is in the 12 bit or 16 bit audio mode. some cameras default to the 12 bit setting and that may be the cause of the poor reproduction.

it is not clear that whether u have used the same microphone with VHS camera, and got good recording ?...

first it is necessary to isolate the defective one, whether the microphone or the camcoder itself.

check the microphone conneting it to any other system and see the recording level....

if it is not practical, then connect another microphone to the camcoder and then see....

ensure that u r using proper connetor to the mic-in jack, and its connections....

do this preliminary checks, otherwise show it to authorized service person.
