Camcorders

Hi I"m currently studying film in college but I will be spending 10-14 weeks abroad. I am looking for a camera that I could bring with me to document my trip then I would edit it all together on finalcut when I got back. I am looking for something very cheap (under $350), small, somewhat durable, and easy too use. I just want to be able to capture/store my footage easily and I"m not looking to do anything fancy. Any suggestoions would be appreciated. Thanks

I have a Sennheiser wireless lavalier set. Is it possible to buy another mic? I'm planning on doing interviews with as many as two or three people at a time. Can I buy another mic (or two) and set it to the same frequency?

My pc will not pick up any of 3 dv cameras. I have tried them on 2 other brand new pcs and still no success. I think the ports on all three must be damaged. How easy is it for the firewire ports on a camcorder to burn out?

is there a reasonably priced portable mini DV cassette player that can be purchased to upload video onto pc?

and i have had it for about 2 years and today I saw that my laptop's charger had the same shaped hole for my camera's Wire thing (it's a wire that you plug into the camera and you plug in the other end into an outlet so you wouldn't have to use the battery) I used the laptop's charger to see if it would work and now my camera isn't turning on

did i do something?
is really broken?
do i just need for it to cool off?
are there any other ways of fixing it beside getting it repaired?

Hey yahoo peeps,

I'm doing some recordings for YouTube with my Fugi Digital Camera, and I need to get some affordable camera microphones so that people can hear what my actors are saying while their walking and what people say to them. Where can I find a cheap microphone, are there any for my camera? PLEASE HELP!

I've been faithfully putting my DV video on DVD's, but I've already had a couple of DVD's go bad just sitting on the shelf. Therefore, I want a hard disk based format. Now that I have an HDV camera, DVD just doesn't provide the quality I want either (I use Mac's iMovie/iDVD). I have experimented with the Apple TV format which is supposed to be a HD format and the results are good, but I want to stay with open, future-proof formats that preserve as much quality as possible while having a reasonable disk space footprint.

I'm using my Canon PowerShot S3IS to record videos. It records great video and stereo audio (if sound is at moderate levels). The audio tends to distort if it becomes too loud, especially the bass parts.

What can I do to remedy the situation? I heard that I could cover the built-in microphones partially in those situations, but I do not know how to do it.

I tried ejecting the digital 8 tape out, it ejected out but will not open to let the video tape out, and it is stuck, it won't go back down. Whats the matter?

when i formatted it in the pc the dvdcam does not recgonize it and it even cannot format it in vr or vf mode.
It worked fine when formatted in the dvd cam
I want to use it record video in my cam.
