I tried ejecting a tape out of my Sony Digital 8 and it got stuck?

I tried ejecting the digital 8 tape out, it ejected out but will not open to let the video tape out, and it is stuck, it won't go back down. Whats the matter?

check to be sure that your battery is charged, the eject sequence requires the camera be powered up.
