I am looking to buy a Camcorder that allows me to film on complete darkness, or Night Vision. What should I be looking for to let me know whether the camcorder will do that, is it an accessory or some kind of rating on the camcorder that indicates it can film in Night Vision.

I have a Canon ZR500. I bought it back in February through Dell. I used it for a while and then lost the charger for the battery. I haven't used it since. I took the battery out of the camera and now when I put a new battery in the camera doesnt turn on. When I put my old battery into my brothers camera(he has the same one) his camera turns on but says that the battery needs to be charged. Nothing happens when either battery is in my camera. But both batteries work in the other camera...so..what can possibly be wrong with my camera? I dont think I can return it to Dell because I lost the original charger and its been months since I ordered the camera.

The little end -- not the bigger end that plugs into the computer tower -- seems to not quite fit the digital camera, but goes right into the camcorder, as it should, of course. Anyone know?

I've tried to transfer video from my jvc mini dv, but the computer doesn't detect the camera. I've installed the drivers and it detects the photos, but not the video. I'm connected via a USB.

I have about £500 to spend. I have been doing some research but seem to be getting bogged down with out of date reviews, discontinued lines etc.
Can anyone give me a few simple choices here. All responses appreciated. Thanks

I like making movies with my friends, but when I shoot with my miniDV camcorder the audio doesn't sound too great in post-production. I need to be able to record voices so that they sound better. I would buy a boom microphone or something, but my miniDV camcorder doesn't have an input slot for an external microphone. Is there any other way to record good quality audio without having a microphone attached to the camera I'm recording with (on a small budget)?

I want a good camera with high resolution but also looks nice and can fit into small places such as purses and pockets. I don't want to spend to much on one though, maybe somewhere from 100-300 or less.

Do all HDD camcorders have a hard drive? What is this tape I read about? Please enlighten me on these basics. Can you download your filming from a camera hard drive to a dvd with software or get it professionally done?!

The "record" function on my digi8 handycam just died. The player side still works ok. Repair is not viable and I want to replace the camera with a minidv tape type. I would like to save some of the material I recorded to digital8 on dvd so I can discard the old camera. I have experimented with capturing material to WMM for editing but find the quality of the edited videos poor when played back on my pc. At full screen it is rubbish. Is there any way to improve this? I captured via USB 2.0, not firewire. My pc spec is not so high Pentium 4 2.4ghz, 768mb RAM, 200 mb avail storage. OS XPHome. Appreciate any advice including suitable literature to read for beginners. Thanks.

When I change the Iris it changes the f-stop. It also makes the picture brighter or darker. I thought the f-stop changed how blurry things that were out of focus are. I'm wanting to do just that but I don't know how. How can I change the blurriness of out of focus objects on the Canon XL2?

My mom got this Singing Machine karaoke machine at a rummage sale and it came with a video camera attached to it. I plugged the camera into the tv and you could see the the video camera was viewing on the tv. today, i tried pointing it to the tv and at first I saw infinite images of the tv, but when i directed the camera directly at the tv, I saw a white light followed by a spectrum of changing colors. What is going on?

I have a JVC digital video camera that takes DV tapes, and whenever I play a tape back with kind of a lot of footage it like takes breaks after a date with the blue screen with the time and date blank just blinking and sometimes takes a few minutes to seen whats next on that tape. Any way I can adjust the settings so this doesn't happen, just to replay the entire tape without any pauses?
