anyone know of really great boom mics that work amazingly, and any websites i can browse to find them?

boom mic? the kind you put on the end of a boom, like hollywood style? unless you work in a studio sound stage, i doubt you want anything like that.
videographers use two mic types that you might call a boom mic. 1 is a very small lav mic that is supported on the end of a fishing pole. this requires a full time person to hold up high to keep out of the shot, but still be close enough to catch the conversation.. 2 is a shotgun which can be attached to the camera. it is very directional, picking up only in the direction it is pointed. if you turn the camera to follow a shot, the sound changes. also it is NOT high fidelity, not suitable for capturing music.
