Hi I"m currently studying film in college but I will be spending 10-14 weeks abroad. I am looking for a camera that I could bring with me to document my trip then I would edit it all together on finalcut when I got back. I am looking for something very cheap (under $350), small, somewhat durable, and easy too use. I just want to be able to capture/store my footage easily and I"m not looking to do anything fancy. Any suggestoions would be appreciated. Thanks

the low end miniDV cameras will work fine for your project. however you might want take plenty of extra tapes as finding a camera shop in out of the way locations can be difficult. more important, look for a camera outfit where the battery charger is universal voltage ie 110/240 50/60 cycle and get a set of travel adaptor plugs from Radio Shack.
