It is ok if I can only access the footage through connecting it to a tv or laptop. I don't necessarily need it to be accessible on a hard-drive.

When the card is in the camera turns on then turns off. When I take it out and turn it on then put it back in I can not record or take pictures because it goes into card protect. Im not sure what I should do. The memory card was recommended to me by a best buy worker.

I just picked up a super 8 video camera from an antique store today. I have tried looking up the camera online but information on it proves to be difficult. The camera is a Hanimex Loadmatic Compact CPM 53. Can I use any super 8 cartridges in it or does it take a special kind? Thank you for all your help in advance!

I have an expensive program called "Sony Vegas" and it is a movie editor. I've watched several tutorials and that tell you the best way to render (export) quality video for youtube or whatever else you want. I render the movie as WMV and i follow all the other directions and EVERY SINGLE TIME my video is skippy and jumpy. If i render it as avi or something like that it looks good but then it is too huge of a filesize to put on youtube. I have many friends who have videos on youtube who just use windows movie maker and render movies and they never skip or jump, and mine always do. Does anyone know good settings to use for youtube without making the video a WMV, or what I am doing wrong? Thank you.

Which type of video camera is best to work with (and why do you think so)?

harddrive
memory stick
mini-CDs

We're having a kid and figure it's time to buy one. We're thinking get a less expensive one, and wait until the HD recording ones come down in price.

Thanks!

I am a beginning film studies student, and I would like to start making my own films. I've thought about getting a digital movie camera, but I don't like how cheap and unprofessional the picture quality looks. I want to find a camera where it has good quality pixels and an option to manually focus it so I can focus on one object/person if desired. Any suggestions? Also, what is the best software for a beginning film maker?? Thanx

What is the real advantage that a CMOS Carl Zeiss lens used in Sony HD camcorders offers, over the plain Carl Zeiss lens used in the lower, cheaper models? Assuming that I am referring to all 6 Megapixel camcorders that have the same optical zoom as well.

I would like to know, from those who have some knowledge about camera lenses, if the advantages offered are worth the extra price we have to pay for?

I have a mini dv camcorder and we have taped video on the cassettes. Is there a way that we can take what is stored on the cassettes and put in on disc format? Is there any other way to view the mini cassettes without viewing them through the camera? We know how to connect camcorder to TV to watch what was recorded but how could we view if the camcorder did not work? Thanks!
