i need to know how to cut clips in sony vegas?

not exactly cut them out. im very new to sony vegas 7. Is it like movie maker where I cut a clip in half and use on half for an effect? neone know of an online tutorial?

A clip on the time line can be "divided" at the cursor position using edit menu. This is non-destructive to the source clip. Once divided, you can move each part independently. Is this what you need?
