you need an analog to digital converter.

Check with CompUSA

A couple of ways. Easiest, but most expensive: Sony makes a stand-alone portable DVD burner that does NOT require a PC. You can connect your camcorder output directly to this box and burn or record your footage directly to DVD's. This units runs around $225 new.

The other way is to hook your camera up to the PC through an analog (your 8mm camera) to digital (the PC) converter box which hooks up to a USB port or FIREWIRE port on the PC. Software for editing or burning the footage to DVD will also be needed and this is assuming your PC has a DVD burner.

The most convenient method however is to bring your 8mm's to Walmart and have them convert everything for you.
