The typical lens on a camcorder adjusts from the normal focal length and zooms out to telephoto. The telephoto brings distant objects closer in, like a telescope. Wide angle captures more picture than the normal setting, useful for inside rooms where it is hard to back up sufficiently to get everyone in the shot. The fisheye is so wide that it is noticably distorted, close up objects appear to bulge. One feature of the fisheye is it elimates the need to focus.
