I've just bought a sony dcr-hc24e camcorder. I'm trying to transfer the film I've shot onto my pc. Using the software provided, one minute's worth of recording equals about 350mb so I don't have a big enough hard drive to transfer a full 60 minute tape! Any advice?

Get a bigger hard drive! It's unfortunately the only option, perhaps an external one for the time being and then if you want to keep it on the existing computers hard drive you could compress it.

My media editing suite for example has two 250GB hard drives in and then I've got an additional 120GB hard drive just in case, there are times though when even this is not enough.

Get an external drive. That's what most people are doing.
