A digital 8 tape is better than the regular hi8 tape that you can use even if you're unit is hi8videocam.

And there are lots of different brands that still make those kind of tapes. But i'd stick with the same tape brand as with my videocam brand for much compatibility.

If it's Digital Hi 8 I would use Maxwell Pro tapes sold at wal-mart and Sam's
