Software - November 2007

i see there are many virsions of linux and Graphical user interface to use, and would like to know what would be the best one to use??

also can i put linux on 1 hdd, and windows xp on another??

i dont like the way windows freezes up and stops working and have heard linus runs better...

for some reason, when I hit the left key, the flashy thingy goes right, and when I hit the right key, it goes left. Why? How can i fix this? It only happens in Word. I have the 2002 version I think.

missing msvcr80.dll so i run microsoft office diagnostic and it fixes it but then it goes into a configuration loop and then goes back to missing msvcr80.dll ive tried all the fixes online but nothing works but ive seen if you want to report it to mocrosoft it costs money cuz im past 90 days any tips would be helpful tnx in advance

i am looking for something reliable and easy to use ideally that i can copy and paste the html from as im not sure about ftp.
i dont need to do anything fancy just basic stuff, i have microsoft frontpage but havent used it as i think some hosts dont provide frontpage extensions so i cant use it ?

The problem is when I play a game cpu1 (core1) is using 99% of it's capasity and cpu2 (core2) only 10-15%.
I've AMD 64x2 2.4Ghz 4600+ on vista home premium 32bit.

And the software I need to solve the problem is AMD dual core optimizer!

I tried to install that dual core optimizer on Windows Vista Home Premium and got an error message about the windows installer package. Error 1721.

Do I have a problem or just not need the optimizer with vista?

I think I need to install it because if i look at multimeter (on the sedebar) while running the game is shows what I said in the first sentence.

Can you guys help me out plzz..

when i turn on my computer the boot screen (where you can go to setup-F2 or boot menu-F12) then a black screen with light grey letters comes up and says the windows can't load because a file called windows/config or something like that is missing or corrupt. it says i can fix this problem using the original setup CD. i don't hav the CD. is there any way i can fix this without the CD, or can i fix it with another setup CD for the same operating system?

If i leave it on for more than 3 hours it will hibernate and often wont wake up and a "NO SIGNAL" messgae appears on screen.

The power is still on on the base unit but no screen activity.

What is going on!?

I asked a question yesterday about the best software for photography and was told that Photoshop CS3, was the best one out there. After searching online I see that there are a few different ones such as Photoshop CS3 Complete, Upgrade, Extended, Lightroom, and Media Only. I'm curious what the difference between them are. I just want to make sure that I get the best thing for the money, since this seems to be a VERY expensive product. I don't want to get one version and find out I should also buy another version. Also my computer runs Windows Vista (which I absolutley HATE) and I want to be sure that this software would be compatible with it. Any tips and advice would be much appriciated.

I'm calculating two variables $x,$y (both are forced as double).
On PHP5/ServerWindowsNT I'm getting one result and on PHP4/ServerLinux I'm getting another.

PHP 5/Windows
$x =-5867178591
$y=175400
$x ^ $y = -1572120439

PHP 4.4/Linux
$x =-5867178591
$y=175400
$x ^ $y = -2147308248

Why?What can I do to get also on PHP4.4/Linux the same result as on PHP5/Windows?
