i am looking for something reliable and easy to use ideally that i can copy and paste the html from as im not sure about ftp.
i dont need to do anything fancy just basic stuff, i have microsoft frontpage but havent used it as i think some hosts dont provide frontpage extensions so i cant use it ?

I suggest the CoffeeCup free HTML Editor (link below). The paid version (you can get a free trial) has a visual option, but I do not recommend it. In fact, I do not recommend any visual editors because they generate clumsy code with inefficient in-line styles and generally lousy HTML. If you are going to get anywhere editing HTML, you are going to have to learn HTML, not to mention CSS. Start by taking small steps, see what works and what doesn't and you'll be learning in no time.

ubuntu is a free Linux based Operating System and OpenOffice
is it's part. They can deliver it free of cost to your home with Mozilla Firefox and some other free application Cd.

You can try to use OpenOffice, a free office suite that's (mostly) compatible with Microsoft Word. OO will emit standards compliant HTML.

You could also try learning HTML. It is fairly simple and easy to learn.

If you know your HTML pretty well and are looking for a light weight program try Notepad ++ it supports all different kinds of programing languages as well as being a txt editor.
