Software - November 2007

I am Working out of a text book called Microsoft Office 2003 Where I am trying to create my first Macro. The book tells to open up a blank work book. Then to start my creating my Macro. First I am to pull down the Tools menu, point to Macro Command, Click on Record New Macro. The Record Macro Dialog Box appears where I am to name the Macro. Then type a lower case "n" in the short cut key box and choose " This Work Book" in the store macro in drop down. Then Click O.K. to record the Macro. From there a Stop Recording Toolbar should appear, But does not. The text also instructs me to pull down tools menu, Click Macro-- Click Stop Recording command if the Stop Recording Toolbar doesn't appear. I have tried this method with no success. Could anyone shed some light on this subject?

i have utorrent 1.75 and a virgin media 2mb broadband with no limits. the pc im using utorrent on is a core 2 duo vista with internet via a belkin 54mbps g plus mimo router. my download speed is always below 15k wheras my upload speed is much higher. what can i do to make it go faster?

just borrowed my friends disk (licensed for 3 pc's) and the installation went without a hitch, and i have office on my pc. however i unable to download/view powerpoint, word, excel documents from my university portal. any one know why?

I have people use my computer and I do not want certain files showing up in my recent documents thing on the start menu. How do I flush them out or delete one particular one from showing up? I have tried opening random files and stuff but it doesnt always flush out the old ones.

I downloaded xp-icons, different icons then what I already have but the file is a zip file and I am unable to use the icons...

Is there a different icon site I can go to to download them where they work right and without problems the first time????

Here's the situation:
- I can't open any PDF files on my university's lecture material site
- I've got three computers installed with the latest versions of acrobat reader and firefox but all three can not open the file
- The files could be opened three weeks ago on the same computers
- The files can now be opened on any other computer (e.g. library computers) except for mine
- No settings were changed on any of my three computers
HELP asap!

I have received a text file (.txt) from a co-worker that is password protected and I cannot open it. I NEED to open this tonight and he will not be back online again until tomorrow. I have no way of getting the password. How Can I view the contents of this file, or remove the password?

Also - The text file is inside of a zip folder, if that matters. I am unable to remove the file from the zip folder as well.

I refer to Ubuntu 7.10

Its not a resource hog like Vista

The graphics are better than Vista

Its FREE unlike Vista that costs mega bucks.

How many of you have made the switch to Ubuntu 7.10, and put Vista down as an expensive mistake.

The best is free, watch out microsoft.

It's mad fast now. What should I do so that it always runs like new and it doesn't get slow like before? What common programs should I avoid from now on? I think it got slow because I had all these Myspace IM, Limewire, Firefox, AVG, Divx Player, and a lot of other crap. Should I keep everything at a minimum? Like keep using IE 6 instead of IE 7? I think that's probably why at first when I do a clean install it runs fast but as soon as I start upgrading to newer versions of stuff it starts to get slow. I have an almost 4 year old Dell Inspiron 1150 by the way and I only have 768 megs of ram. Could that be it? Because my friend has 2 gigs of ram and her PC always runs fast

Ok, so i got vista from my cousin and downloaded it to my pc (xp) and i had vista for like 2 months then one day said it was no longer valid and for like ever ive had to go thorugh files and **** i no longer have a desktop to do the normal things a pc can do. it all like works though downloads n stuff still work but its not the same, but the worst and only part that bugs me a lot is it shuts off every hour on the hour back to the main "validate vista screen" its not hard to go back to everything but it sucks cuz it signs me out of my stuff..is there anyway at all to stop it from going off every hour??

It was working then it just quit (several times over several months) then it works again! I have reinstalled several times checked all the config. settings (10 times), restarted (20 times), checked firewall applications, changed firewalls, gone through java.com's faq's and suggested fix's, checked IE's internet connections and security settings. And more. HELP!!!!!!!!!!

im in university and my prof puts up all his lecture slides up online so i can print them out and then just make notes on things he says rather than writing eveyrthing on the slide, all his lectur slides are in the form of an adobe arcobate reader file is there a way to make put coments in for each page that way i dont have to print it...i try but it says its security enabled or somthing is there a way i can go past the security to make comments onthe document so i dont have to rpint it out

Like I said I have several avi files and other video files that I down loaded to my computer I just got an external dvd r+w drive but it came with nero software that has smartstart with it but I am looking for a programe that will convert this files that will playy them in a regular dvd player with out lot of hassel is there a programe that is eather frre or that does not cost a lot of money that can do this please help someone.
