i have utorrent 1.75 and a virgin media 2mb broadband with no limits. the pc im using utorrent on is a core 2 duo vista with internet via a belkin 54mbps g plus mimo router. my download speed is always below 15k wheras my upload speed is much higher. what can i do to make it go faster?

You could try altering the upload settings to something like 35. I found this helped mine a lot. You need to share at least an equal ratio so once it has downloaded, set your upload speed higher again. Remember with virgin they have a fair usage policy, but allow you full speeds after 11:00pm until either 7 or 8am (check this out yourself), so is probably best to download overnight. Also try and download torrents with lots of seeds, and remember, torrent speeds can pick up as you go along. Using the encryption part of uTorrent is also advisable.

At the bottom of the utorrent page where you see download,R/click and you will see a scale of different speeds. Click the one you want and the same for uploads

it depends on how many people are seeding what you are downloading, if there are more leeches or peers than seeds then it will download slower.
