will i have any problems with my documents still being there after i uninstall and reinstall microsoft word?

If you're referring to the folder My Documents, no, because it is created by Windows, not Microsoft Word. :)

If you're referring to your documents per se, uninstalling Word is at most harmless and will put the extension back to Wordpad, although of course making backups wouldn't hurt. After reinstalling Word, it should handle the .doc files automatically.

You shouldn't have any problems but I would save the documents on a flash drive or CD just in case before uninstalling it.

Not at all, but always is better to prevent than to be sorry about not making a back up copy of your files, this routine has to be done kind of often, unless your files are not value at all.

As well, the cd has to have a name and a date, that will help you to know when was the latest security copy.
