Hi guys,
I have XP home on the PC - Ive heard so many problems to do with Vista that im debating wether to buy it or not.
Ive found a copy to download, but what are the chances of me getting caught useing it!?

I've asked this before and got a great rapid response from people but I've realised I was too vague.

I dont have my windows cd but have the product key on my laptop and was wondering does the windows cd matter? I've had one guy give me the link to some web page talking about microsoft now only allowing the same cd, its an OEM since I got it with my dell, windows already installed on it.

Now that I need to reformat I have the windows cd for my moms dell laptop but dont know if it would work, its a service pack two and I dont know if my windows cd already had that.

Does any one know how much a difference this would make? I'm afraid when I go to activate it it would be considered illegal and shut down. My other idea is to ask dell to send me a replacement and just pay for what ever charge, if I cant use a diff cd. Has any one done this before?

OK I am going to ask this question again! It is the 4th time and I have NEVER got an answerthat helped with my problem, although someone picked it as the best answer it sure was NOT me. I downloaded some songs from the internet! YES I paid for them. I have Vista and an HPm810n PC I have tried using several different kinds of CD-R disks and when I copy the do not finalize. I KNOW they are supposed to but they do NOT someone told me there is a free program that you can download that does a great job of burning CD's perhaps you could tell me what it is or how to fix my Roxio. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance

Uh oh, big problem. I downloaded a copy of Ubuntu Linux. When I used it to install on my Pentium 4 2.4GHz PC, it worked perfectly. In fact, I am now using it to surf the web and writing this article.

However, this morning, my gf came over with her PC and ask me to do the same. Her PC also had the same configuration as mine, ie, Pentium 4 2.4GHz. Unfortunately, the PC was slow initially. Then it hanged there.

I have now deleted her Windows and left her with an unusable PC.

What could be the problem? The CD that I created Ubuntu with can download the software perfectly onto my PC. But cannot do the same for my gf's PC, even though her PC configuration is similar.

What could be the problem? I can't even install Ubuntu Linux on her PC?

I am trying to work on projects on my PC at home, on cs3, then take them to the MAC at my school to print them out. But the MACs use CS2, and when I take try to open them, the file says it is damaged. I am not sure, but I've been told I can take them from PC to Mac. Any suggestions, or info? It would be greatly appreciated. If anyone knows FOR SURE, I'd really appreciate it and it would save me a lot of guesswork. Thanks!

it is rush hour 2 (part 1&2)
i donwloaded from a korean site (wedisk) and im trying to put it into my psp and i tried opening it with real player and it wouldn't open. it did open with windows media player but there is no sound and they said the

"The audio codec identified by the format tag 2001 is required to play this file. To determine if this codec is available to download from the Web, click Web Help."

but i cant find web help nor do i know what to do

Anyone know why the spell check function does not work in Word? I have re-installed MS Word. I'm working in Office 2002. Whenever I run spell-check, the mis-spelled word appears. But I can't manually or in any select any of the suggested words. Nor can I select the "add to dictionary" feature which is greyed out. I've already gone in & totally cleared out all words from my custom.dic file. I've also run a scan on my system for viruses. Thanks.

I can think of many, many reasons why I'd rather downgrade to XP, but can anyone point out some reasons why I should stay with Vista? I am so close to going back to XP. Running vista on my 2GB, AMD Turion X2 notebook is like running XP on 256MB, Pentium 3.
