saved a file with the same characters both in wordpad and word....wordpad file is 1kb, word file is 24kb..so give me a good reason why i shud use word instead of wordpad

my boyfriend was looking at some things on the pc yesterday...something pops up tellling him he needs to install something to watch what he was watching... anyways, all it did was install a homepage hijacker, and along with it came a few things in the add/remove programs list. I was able to successfully remove a couple of them but there are still two left (IE Custom Tools, IE Safety Features), when i click to remove either of those it says a system reboot is required before removing, so I reboot, and go back to it...does the same thing again. This is driving me nuts, can anyone suggest what i do (for free).

On www.accesstogo.com there are two differnt versions of the same database, educational and full. The educational version is half the price of the full version.

What is the difference?
Is it still open source code?
What are the pros and cons of getting the educational version as opposed to the full version? - why would someone want to pay twice for the same thing?

can any one help with my problem.... i am really new with dos....and having problem with finding some dos command.....like choice, fasthelp ...... now i am using windows sp2 and dos version is 5.1.2600.....which did not support this command....

i downloaded dos version 6.2 but i cant use it ...i dont know how to change the version......

Like in deviant art there are reaaly good artists and I think they use the computer to draw then on, how do you do it/what program is it?
Plus how in the pictures you draw do you put in shaddows (like on the one drawn on the computer)

Ok i think my registry and java have been damaged/ hacked into is it possible to reset them back to normal values short of reformatting and re loading windows and if so can ya give me detailed instructions - Using w2000 and i e 6.0, 6 gigs and 600 mhz - hope that helps - thanks a bunch . .

I'm planning on investing good money into a video program but I want it to do all of the following things:
~Convert avi videos to DVD (so I can put them on a dvd and watch them on my tv)
~Convert DVD to mpeg (so I can put dvd movies I have onto my ipod)
~Have a decent video editing software (windows movie maker is not very fun...)

So if you know of a good quality program that does all of this, please give me the name, an estimate price, and how to get it. I would really perfer buying it from a best buy/target/walmart. If you know of a good program that does one or two things I want, feel welcome to include that.

I am having this horrible brain fart where i cant remember what these aplications are called. They load your image in an enviornment and you can use tools to cut on them. When you partition them in this way it makes a each partition a link. any clues?

I bought an HP laptop and at the bottom of it it says Product Key, which I thought I could type in to my Microsoft Office programs so that they would work. Every time I open an Office program it tells me that I have to enter a product key. The Product Key on the bottom of my computer does not work for this. I can't find the key anywhere else and now the Office programs will not work whatsoever. I need this key to write papers, how can I get it??

Ok, here goes, got a new hard drive, installed the disk's I was suppose to but it seems like I don't have everything that my old hard drive had (example-programs- I don't even have microsoft word processor) I have an HP computer with windows xp. Did I miss something, is there something else I need to download, lots of things I get into on the internet saies I have missing plugins etc. When I installed the disk, hp support helped me they only had me put in the windows xp pro SP2 disk and the restore one. I hope I haven't confused everyone just wanted to know if there is anyway to get all my programs back.

I would like to do a fresh install of XP on my desktop and laptop. Do I need to buy two separate copies to do that? If you only can use it on one computer can it be used again if you ever want to format that computer's hard drive and do a fresh reinstall again? Thanks.

Do you know how in pictures, they can make a certain color in a picture turn a different color? For example, the background will be black and white but someones shirt will be pink or something. I've been using DVD Shrink for a while and never had a problem with it. I have downloaded Nero and always use DVD Shrink to burn. Now all of a sudden when I burn a disk and put it in the dvd player I get an error mesage telling me that the playback option is unavailable (or something of that sort). I've tried it in 2 different dvd players and get the same message, however, it will play fine in my laptop. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have any suggestions? I've uninstalled DVD Shrink and Nero both then reinstalled them and still have gotten no where.

I just installed Nero 8 Ultra edition the trial version and I tried to use Nero Vision which lets you make a little menu for your DVD so I click on Add Video Files and the files that I'm trying to convert to DVD and Burn are FLV and it says that I can't add those files. If someone can help me out that would be great. If you can tell me another program that works just like Nero that would be great also. Thanks for your help.

I have tried many times to find the free download for Limewire, which may not even be worth downloading after the reviews it has recieved. Every time I try to sign up for it, it says that it is "completely free." But then they asked for my credit card number, and gave a bunch of package options (none of which included "free version") How do I get it for free?
