Software - October 2007

Hiya,
Is it possible to buy a Windows operating system disk without a license? I have a laptop with a license but no OS Disk and I need one and I don't want to pay like £80 for one with a license...

Hey folks, here's my issue:

I have two young kids (5yrs old and 2yrs old) and the problem I'm having is that because my kids keep taking their favorite DVDs from the house to the car, from the car to the babysitter then back from the babysitter to the car and to the house again, after just a couple of weeks, the DVDs get scratched, warped, cracked, you name it..... is there any software out there that will let me copy a "commercial" DVD??

Having to replaced the damaged DVDs has become a pretty big expense and I was hoping to find some program/software so that I could back up their DVDs so that I don't have to keep buying them again everytime they're damaged.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced!

How manyt Microfsoft voices are there?
I know about Mary Mike and Sam but I thought there were other ladie's voice available and does anyone know about any other realistic sounding voices available?

I have two almost identical Dell desktops. One needs a fresh install of XP, but I could only find the OEM disk that came with the OTHER Dell. Can I use this one or will the registration key already be registered and make it unusable on the second machine?

I was just wondering if anyone knew how to burn a picture slide show on a dvd? I have quicktime and quick player and Windows Media Center which I usually use to burn stuff and HP photosmart premier. So if anyone can help it will be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I was on an interactive site requiering java download but the download is for newer windows version than mine. I tried to download it and it works to an extent but seems to lock up once in awhile and has no audio capability. Is their a version of java that I can download for windows 98 early version that will work better? Where can I find it and what is it's identification.

I was 'cleaning' some stuff up in add/remove folder earlier, and it so happens that I deleted something related to having sound from the comp... Sucking pretty badly with computers, I have absolutely no clue how to fix that. I've read about a few tips, but it seems nothing is related to my problem. I keep getting the msg that I need to locate my CD-ROM installation.

I can't open pdf files. Adobe acrobat told me to uninstall the one I have and then reinstall the new version but I can't uninstall the old one. Adobe support finally told me to contact them by phone for help which I tried but all of the options to get to support I end up with the recording saying "good bye!" Very frustrating.

I get this confounded error message - "System Restore did not complete successfully. Your computer's system files and setting were not changed"

Has ANYBODY been able to perform a System Restore on Windows Vista (in normal mode). This seems to be too big of a problem for Window not to notice!?!?!

I formatted my computer and installed windows xp. Most of the stuff works fine, but I cannot set the screen resolution. Everything on the screen is so big and I know I have to install a driver or something. Where will I find the driver and can I download it for free? Please help

in such a way that they will work on any dvd player>? i also have some bin and cue files. what software can i use to put them onto a blank dvd so they work on dvd players? is there any chance of putting more then one avi files onto the dvd? or will it just be one avi on a dvd?/ most of the avi files are around 700mb

i've counted all the space at the add/remove programs ...my programs used 1791mb,588mb on songs and 668bytes on pictures...however,my c drive says that i've used 9.17GB
i don't get it,even when i delete things the right way,there seems to be no difference(even after waiting for months)
how do i check for my hidden pogrammes?
if it isn't the hidden programmes causin this,what is?

what i like about it that it has security settings

i know why i installed it, becasue sometimes there are sites that read PDF files, and in order to view those sites, u need adobe reader!! but what else can it do?

Hi there. i'm using Microsoft Outlook Web Access and I want to delete the 50,000 e-mails in my sent folder. So far, I haven't found a way to do it other than clicking every freaking box individually.

I've tried: holding down the ctrl key while clicking on the messages. Then hitting the delete key. NOTHING HAPPENS.

I've also tried highlighting the first message, holding control, then hitting the last message. It just gives me this error message "At least one folder or message must be selected.

Highlighting or hitting "select all" doesn't put checkmarks in the the boxes...it just highlights them. And then when I hit the X delete button, it tells me I have to select something.

I'm so frustrated! Help!

I know how to get a art border on my page for my computer aps class but since I was absent cuz im sick i dont know how to center the border on my page...it keeps cutting off the bottom of the border but the top, and left and right sides are fine...what do i do???...help plz---this needs to be due tomm.
