I was on an interactive site requiering java download but the download is for newer windows version than mine. I tried to download it and it works to an extent but seems to lock up once in awhile and has no audio capability. Is their a version of java that I can download for windows 98 early version that will work better? Where can I find it and what is it's identification.

"Microsoft will offer Mainstream support for either a minimum of 5 years from the date of a product’s general availability, or for 2 years after the successor product (N+1) is released, whichever is longer."

Given that Microsoft Windows ME was released December 31, 2000 (second link), developers stopped releasing software versions for the MS Windows 95/98/ME platform.
