i don't get it,even when i delete things the right way, there seems to be no difference(even after waiting for months)
how do i check for my hidden pogrammes?
if it isn't the hidden programmes causin this, what is?

I think you have to try this go to windows start button than click on "RUN" than Type "%temp%" and press ENTER. You will find systems hidden place delete all the files from this folder.and than again go to RUN and type "Temp". This is how you will free some data from disk. and than empty your recycle bin.
download CCleaner software from : http://www.ccleaner.com/
this software has the capacity to free most of the unwanted files from your computer. GooD Luck>>>>><<<<

add/remove programs won't show you everything that's taking up storage, it only shows the approx. size of each program. This doesn't include other stuff you have on your hard drive like music, videos, documents, etc.

Remember that the windows folder itself is a couple of GB too. On top of that, a lot of storage used by windows won't be counted either. For example system restore, everytime i clear all the restore points, it gives me an additional 3 or 4 GB (depends on your settings).

If you want to try that do this:
start>all programs>accessories>system tools>disc clean up

you can remove all that stuff that it shows up (even more storage take from these items), also click on the more options tab then under system restore, click clean up. This will remove all the restore points except the last one.

Keep in mind that this will give you a better approximation of where some of the storage went but like I said, you probably won't be able to find every missing storage space.
