Hiya,
Is it possible to buy a Windows operating system disk without a license? I have a laptop with a license but no OS Disk and I need one and I don't want to pay like £80 for one with a license...

Thank You for your time,
John

Go check Ebay for a recovery disc. Make sure it is for your make and model.

It is not possible. Every windows disk has a specific license to that disk. When you register it, you register that disk to you. The only way is to borrow someone else's XP disk, when it loads all the way, using their code, change the code before you register it.

I can send the program to change the code in an email if you wish. I had to do this for a while until I bought a new disk.

Check the Microsoft website. You should be able to order a disk once you prove that you own a license.

I had to replace a damaged MS Office disk this way.

Cheers.

P.S. The license key is NOT associated with the media. You do NOT need any software to change the key.

Read the laptop User Manual. Your recovery disk should be on the hard disk.

If not, call the laptop vendor to order it, it shouldn't be more than 20 big ones.

yes it is possible, unfortunately it is illegal. If you dont mind buying pirated software, which honestly works just as well as the original, then you can install this in your laptop without a license.

Not really, it would be better to borrow one or download a copy and use you license on it.
