I get this confounded error message - "System Restore did not complete successfully. Your computer's system files and setting were not changed"

Has ANYBODY been able to perform a System Restore on Windows Vista (in normal mode). This seems to be too big of a problem for Window not to notice!?!?!

Its a tool, and its not designed to work in all conditions, so there will come times that it wont work, either the RP are damaged by virus, corrupted due to disk errors, or simple it wasnt backed up correctly.

Click the Start button and start typing "System Restore". Select it when it shows on the list. When the next window appears, either follow the "Next" option to restore the recommended restore-point, or Choose a specific one of your own choosing. People above seem to be confusing a "System Recovery" with a "System Restore". Make/model is irrelevant to a Restore.

Simple answer: It's Vista, expect a pretty interface disguising a load of crap. With this in mind, nothing will surprise you.

Not terribly helpful, I know, but I'll give my best advice: Go back to XP.
