I have tried many times to find the free download for Limewire, which may not even be worth downloading after the reviews it has recieved. Every time I try to sign up for it, it says that it is "completely free." But then they asked for my credit card number, and gave a bunch of package options (none of which included "free version") How do I get it for free?

You should get the Basic version of LimeWire from their website: http://www.limewire.com/.

Just don't hit "Get Pro". Look further down the screen. Select your operating system.

only click on Basic version. it is completely free. you're probably looking in the wrong place.
