I had Vista ultimate edition already installed on my pc which i got from a friend of a friend it was fine but after about 5 months it started to get malware and lots of error and slowing down, my norton subscription ran out and i didnt notice for a week, so i borrowed a vista of my friend who doesnt use is, he uses mac, and installed it but noticed my HDD space went from 170gb free to 140gb free, then i did some snoopin gon google etc and found out that when you install vista on top of vista the old version stays there so i want to erase my hard drive completely, and then put vista back o it using the one i bought last week, so what is the best software to do so, and i have a money no option thing cos this is really important cos my work depends on it :-)

I've recently bought my first Computer (laptop). Windows Vista. It was fine until last night when I clicled onto Internet explorer. Than it tells me I have a virus and wont let me in. It really is starting to p..... me off. I've run Norton and thats says theres nothing wrong. HOW do I reformate my hard drive.

I created a new VM. Created for XP.
Now I kick off the VM. But I do not think XP is actually installed.
When I start it up, it says
Reboot and select proper boot device
or insert boot media disk.

I have a win xp install dvd in my drive.

what do i do next?

When something keeps intruding upon my computer without my request or my permission, I consider that a virus. Unfortunately Gateway, like many other computer makers, has loaded their laptops down with crap that most people don't want and won't use (AOL, NetZero, Game demo's, etc.).

Bad enough it takes up hard-disk space and other system resources, but it is not easily removable. I have deleted the links to AOL and NetZero, but they come back every time I log on.

I have used (Vista equivalent of Add/Delete Programs) to remove every trace of AOL and NetZero that it would let me remove. I still find many AOL and NZ related files on my hard drive, and many references to both programs in my registry.

I could just delete the files, but I want to remove the programs correctly. And I don't want to just delete references to them in the registry without knowing exactly what I'm doing.

Any ideas appreciated!

Every time I try to open itunes, an error message comes up that reads: " The folder iTunes cannot be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is in the 'My Music' folder." Now I checked the my music folder and iTunes in inside it. My computer is alright for most purposes but recently when I try to use a site dependent on adobe flash player 9 ie my favourite poker site - I get a system message 'there is a script running which may cause your computer to become unresponsive do you wish to abort?' even if this message doesnt appear the site is unusable and the computer also becomes unusable. I have a video that has around 2,340 frames, and it needs to be a duration of 2 minutes and 36 seconds. Therefore is should be 15 frames/second.

Now I need to be converting it into a rare format of which there is only a handful of converters, so switching programs is not a option. In this one converter, the frame rate is stuck on 30 frames/second and the output is always that, its just the way it was built. Again don't suggest to change programs.

I need a video editing software that will let me duplicate each frame to a certain extent. So like I need to stretch that 2,340 frames into 4,680 frames. This way I will be able to convert the movie with 30 frames/second but still have the same output.

For a statistics problem, I have to take data that I have computed and turn it into a line graph. I have the Microsoft package, but for some reason it didn't come with Excel. So I have put the data into a chart on Word, but it won't let me take the data and put it into a graph, because it can't link to Excel. Is there any kind of program or anything online that I could use to make a simple line graph? The teacher doesn't want it drawn by hand, and I have about 25 ordered pairs that need to be plotted.
