I don't want to waste space having both programs, but I am unsure how to remove such large programs either.

I loaded it last night and have both versions. With the size of hard drives, space should not be a problem. Be certain to run cleanup utilities and defragged often. ALWAYS create a restore point prior to loading any programs.

I just installed MS Office two days ago. During the installation you get the choice to upgrade the previously installed version or install the new version along side the older one. There is no reason to do this unless you do technical troubleshooting for people using the different versions, but if you do, make sure you only have one version of Outlook installed or you'll have problems.

Office 2007 does everything 2003 can do. One other thing to watch out for is that if you're saving files for people using office 2003 you need to save them in the 2003 file format, because the 2007 files have a different extension. For example Word 2007 file is a .docx file, while the 2003 version is a .doc file.

In the control panel, there's a programs and features icon where you can click to uninstall the various programs you have installed, including Microsoft Office, if you have Vista. On an XP OS you still go to the Control Panel, but it'll be named something else, but still pretty obvious that it's for uninstalling or modifying programs. Uninstall from there.

Get OpenOffice its FREE and compatible with MS office. No need to pay the MS tax.
To uninstall you need to go to Add/remove programs in your control panel and click on Remove MS Office.

i think it just generally overwrites --- but why bother --- check out open office --- its as good (if not better) than Microsoft Office --- can read all the files and is available free as part of the Open Source movement --- you can also go to Add/Remove programs to delete it ---- have fun

whether you simply upgrade or install the whole thing, the higher/newer version will simply overwrite the lower/older one.

just check if your current hardware meet the requirements for the newer version and just follow the prompts on the screen.

I think you can get an upgrade instead of the whole version. I think it is a little cheaper too. Check you local store.

the place of work 07 now no longer has the drop down menus..(neither is there an option for them). with the intention to get the previous concepts -- you opt for to apply the recent panels( definite i comprehend it sucks)
