Ask at a local library. A lot of public libraries now offer free downloadable articles, books, etc. online. These databases can even be accessed from home - all you need is a library card and internet connection. There is a particular database (and others similar) that my library offers called OVERDRIVE, which offers free downloadable movies, books (PDF), and audio books.
