I'm looking for any program, hopefully free, that can "cut" any part of a song and save it.

Go to http://download.com and search for "audio editor". You will find several free (or inexpensive) programs that will allow you to edit out parts of an mp3 file.

acquire a application called "Audacity". i exploit it each and all the time to make ringtones and that's great and rather basic to apply. ensure you acquire the lame_enc.dll from the area too as you will need it for the .mp3 conversion.
