How would I properly extract the files so that when I do I would be able to see and hear the content? Which programs can I use? I used WinRAR but I keep getting somesort of a missing file error.

I've tried the Live installation on both "Ubuntu Ultimate Edition 1.1" and "Ubuntu 6.10 desktop" but I'm having a really hard time with them. I couldn't even get the Ultimate Edition to boot up on the Live CD (It was trying too but I lost my patients after 45 minutes) and Ubuntu 6.10 boots up but then when I double click the installation icon, It just freezes up. I really would like to install the latest distro of Ubuntu on my computer but I'm not having luck with Live CD's. Is there another way? I'm currently downloading the Ubuntu 5.10 (Breezy Badger) install CD and not the Live CD, and I'm hoping that I can just install it and then upgrade to the latest, Is this the only option I've got? Or is there an easier way to install the latest distro of Ubuntu without a Live CD?

Hello I am looking for a software that will help me organize my files. I work in an office and we just got a good scanner. So I want to scan all the documents that goes in filing, and put it on the computer. Thing is I need a good software that will help me manage this filing process. Anyone know any?

I am currently creating DVD photo slideshows with Windows Movie Maker. I want to do more. So I am looking into buying some more expensive DVD creating software. My main focus is on creating picture slideshows with effects, music, etc. Any reccomendations for software?

When i open my pictures, it opens in Microsoft picture editor thing.
Just a while ago almost all the applications got erased off my laptop, i got it back, but how do i change where when I'm browsing through my pictures where they open?

I bought a laptop that has Vista, and I also got street and trips. Unfortunately I cannot upload my excel sheets to save my life. When I try to import files I cannot find it in the given folder. Any ideas how I should save the excel file I need, binary, 2003, or what. Its frustrating, any ideas would be great. From what I understand Vista should be able to go back and understand older formats. Thanks

I am currently running Vista Ultimate Beta but I am looking to purchase the final version. Does this mean I have to start all over again and perform a clean installation? Or will the Ultimate disc that I purchase simply upgrade the Beta version to the proper release version?

the list of words I have on there.. It says word found no valid records to sort. What am I doing wrong. the document looks like this.

dell tech came & installed new unit 2 monts ago...
same problem and with remote sasst all dell can say is "software problem" and wants me to restore to just like the day i got it.

I have a HP DVD840-x external drive and it was working perfectly before a Windows system restore . I have lost my installation disc and when I try to play a movie I get:
Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. You might need to adjust your Windows display settings. Open display settings in Control Panel, and then try lowering your screen resolution and color quality settings.

Consequently, I am unable to play avi video, just the audio.

Are there any programs I can install that will take care of this FRUSTRATING problem?
