Is bittorent safe as its the same as p2p but you can use it via browsers like opera so there are no settings that you can change so can it send out files without you knowing?

ever since i have been having problems with my dvds, i did a little research on my drive and was just thinking, could this drive: SONY DVD RW DW-D22A really exist? I read some peoples reviews and they said it is actually a LiteOn Drive with a Sony Firmware. Some had similar problems like me and mentioned they updated the firmware and all problems were gone.
Does any1 happen to have a website where i could get a firmware update for my drive? a similiar update to my drive? Also can someone give me some advice on how to update it? it would really be nice.
My drive current firmware version is BYS2.

When my Windows XP (SP2) computer starts up, it only takes 30 seconds or so to get to the login screen.

However the time from entering my login password to the time Windows is fully loaded and responsive to commands can drag on for 2.5 minutes or so. This makes me think I have too many startup program / services loading at login.

I have changed msconfig.exe and I don't have too many startup programs / services, which makes me think it's one particular program / service that takes too long to load.

So my question is this: is there a way / program I can use to get Windows to generate a TIMESTAMPED log of what it's doing after I log in? If it's timestamped I can try and see which program is taking too long to load.

I currently use a beta version of Vista... it is driving me INSANE. I was wondering if I should switch to Linux. The computer in question I use primarily for games, internet browsing, and AIM. Primarily games. What difficulties might I encounter? (WoW, Fable, Warcraft III, Starcraft, Counter-Strike: Source, etc.)

i downloaded limewire and when i go to search songs nothing happens. at the top of the screen there is this warning exclamation mark that says: only search results with a lock are an official limewire cinnection. what does this mean? can anyone help?

I just bought a new imac, and i've downloaded my microsoft office with no problem seems like....but i'm worried about my other programs. I bought a scrapbooking program, and a game (SIMS) from the apple store. Do I just follow the directions on how to download them? They won't accept returns if the box has been opened which is why i'm asking this now before I open them and install them. Thanks! PS-please no questions as to why I bought an imac...they are less expensive, are less prone to viruses, and are much more user friendly so far. =)

okay i downloaded some Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer 2007 thing & when i try 2 open it, it takes me 2 my documents to open a powerpoint presentation thing. but i just wanna make a new one using it cuz i dont have any presentations from it. will u tell me how 2 open it w/o a one already made, or just send me one.

I am running Windows Xp. The computer started running slow and hanging up. I have Norton Anti-Virus and Norton Internet Security and Ad-Aware Se for spyware. But to no avail. Something happened, what I dont know...

I have ran Scans for viruses,scans for adware, even purchased a registry cleaner. The proformance has improved a bit . But now when I close programs, I get error messages referring to memory addresses etc....

I wanted to do a system restore and that would have fixed everthing right? WRONG!!!! I go into system restore that windows has and through Norton and the restore points only go back , get this 3 days!!!!

The computer is still new , it was purchased about three months ago. It was set up and running on the same day it was purchased...

what are some other areas that I should start checking??????
