I want to install Linux as a dual boot so how can I partition my HDD for Linux and keep all my data? Do I even need to partition? I'm using Damn Small Linux. Step by step instructions would be appreciated. Thanks so much

first insatll the winxp and the make how many partions you for windows window snad format them keep feady install with the winxp and when you restart the system with linux cd you just select the free hdd space it shows on the free space you make your own partions for linux and install them

DSL isnt recommended to be installed. Just ran from live CD have you tried UBUNTU
