People got fined up to £5,000

If you haven't already reboot and try again.

If you have rebooted then go into your Proram Files and delete the Limewire folder left there from the previous version.

If the problem still persists then Limewire prolly left a file in your registry. I would suggest getting some software you trust to clean Limewire out of your registry, unless you know how to do it manually.

Also it is not illegal, it is only illegal if you use it to download copywritten material. It is designed to share non-copywritten material with other people. Anyone who claims it is illegal to run Limewire is either not well educated or to lazy to actually look up the facts. I have been using it since it came out and have never gotten in any kind of trouble from it.

Ctrl + Alt + Del, and go to process, check if limewire is not there,(if there then end that process) if not then go to your Program Files folder in C:\ and find limewire and manually delete any folders with the name there (only do this if removing the program from control panel didnt work).. and reinstall.

Do not wish to be negative, but be careful! Several people i know use Limewire to download free music etc but without exception they have ALL ended up with a virus on their PC. One work colleague told me that she had downloaded several CDs of music from Limewire then her son (who I suppose knows about these things) told her not to use it for 6 months because there really is somebody out there somewhere monitoring your PC activity.

turn comp off and get rid of limewire from the registry and check that it's gone from the system tray right at the far right bottom of the screen
