Software - February 2007

I need to cut out parts; is there any way to do this? I've uploaded the video to my PC and I need to know if there's some sort of program or something I can do that will allow me to edit parts out of the video? Any help is appreciated.

I have an extra old computer. While I was changing the uploading screen (when the window logo appears, was changing it to another another pic) it "crashed". When I rebooted the computer, it said it might have been corrupted. and said to press "r". Then it said you have to install window XP AGAIN! DELL(this computer) Did NOT have give a backup Window OS CD. So what else can be done? thanks.

i want to be able to run some DOS programs without a DOS emulater like DOSbox, because i want to play some of my old computer games like, unreal, duke nukem 3d, and blood but every time i put one of them in a message pops up that says "C:\WINDOWS\system32\autoexec.nt. the system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and microsoft windows applications choose close to terminate the application" this sucks because i had an older computer that ran the same operating system as the one i have now (windows xp) and it ran them fine but i don't have that old computer anymore, so dose anyone know how to fix this problem, like is there a file i need to download to get this working, PLEASE HELP!

I have 25 columns of over 1500 pieces of data each. Each column needs to use a different variation of one equation in which the number in the cell needs to be multiplied by another number. How can I set it up so that every cell in a column is multiplied by one constant?

Anyone out there know how to make Windows Media Player (the newest one) play in mono because i have broken my speakers and it is only playing one side of the sound and i was wondering if there was a way to make it play in mono instead of in stereo???
I have already tried changing the balance in the graphic equalizer section and it didnt haelp.

Bascially...i have a mac and a pc...i have photo shop on my pc..cause i do graphics at school for GCSE..and i have a mac...and i need to get like word and that on my mac..so i was wondering is it a really bad idea to download will i get viruses onmy mac!! i really need to get i works on there cause i would be able to do essays and that on there cause apple works has word but it doesn;t have a good spell checker so i am lossing marks on spelling

should i get downlaods that say zip on them??

I am looking for a simple (free?) program that i can use to load on my Grandmother's Computer. She never had a chance to learn how to properly use a pc. So, i was wondering has anyone heard of a program that maybe could help her? I came across Windows Vista the other day while looking at laptops online. (I'm going off to college in August and want a laptop, so I was just looking at what's doing pretty good right now, even though I'm not getting mine until mid or early August.)

Anywho, I'm running Windows XP right now and have never had any big problems with it that I couldn't easily fix.

I was really just wondering if Windows Vista is worth getting. What's REALLY the difference to Windows XP? Is it really that much better?

Just some general stuff like that.

If anyone could help me out and give me some opinions/advice that would be great.
