It's important when you "burn" data onto a disc (or music), to check the option to verify the compilation afterwards. Then the program checks the written data and compares it with the data on your hard drive to see if it's written ok. It's very likely that in your case it wasn't, although it doesn't happen very often.

You should also check the disc you've recorded for scratch marks and/or finger marks and clean it. If that doesn't happen, try to record again with the verify option on, to check if the recording went a-ok.

Try selecting a slower burning speed. If your disc is rated at say 8x then try burning at 4x. Sometimes discs are just a bit over-rated on the speed (especially when you're burning a video file).

Another issue I have run into in the past is that some stand-alone DVD players have problems with certain brands of discs. Maybe just using a different brand will correct the problem.

My PS2 is that way. It hated one brand and screwed up every time I used a disc of that brand (I don't remember the brand...sorry). Worked fine with others though.

I guess your saying you burned an audio cd? Well, if it freezes, and none of your other cds freeze, then your cd may have a defect. Get a new one, and do it over. It should work. If it doesn't, then blame it on your cd burning software.

So what's the capacity of this disc. Maybe there's too much data on it for it to work properly. I don't know.
