Well, I use SpywareBlaster which, if updated frequently, will block installation of any spyware/adware on your machine. Also, if you want to run scans to ensure your machine is free of spyware and adware, you can download Ad-Aware SE Personal. All these programs are free from File Hippo. Good luck, and may your machine stay spyware and adware free, for free!

There is one on your Yahoo Toolbar that starts with the big Red Y and the Exclamation Point !
About halfway over is an orange circle with a green pattern in it that may look black to you. Click on that circle and then put your cursor on "Open Norton Spyware Scan" and click that
If you don't have the toolbar with the big Red Y at the start
Go up to toolbars and right click on a blank spot
Pop up menu appears and you move your cursor to "Yahoo Toolbar and click there
Then you can go to the spyware scan

I can give you few links that deal with anti virus and anti spy wares. I think you have to select a standard anti virus. I have come across a website that gives a brief study on computer viruses and their removal. It is very useful. Please visit
http://jskproducts.co.uk/antivirus.htm Here they give details of free as well as paid anti virus programs.
You may also try to select and install a suitable anti spy ware from the following link to protect the Pc against spy ware attacks.
