I am looking for a simple (free?) program that i can use to load on my Grandmother's Computer. She never had a chance to learn how to properly use a pc. So, i was wondering has anyone heard of a program that maybe could help her? So basically a program with a VERY simple interface that has possibly internet, and ability to send and recieve e-mails? that is all i need and anything else is a plus :) thank you.

My dad is 73 and does fine with MSN.

There are groups that work with senior citizens and computers. You might check with AARP (http://www.aarp.org/learntech/computers/) and see if they have any specific software to recommend. Also, I did a quick google search and come up with some hits that might be helpful at http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=senior+citizens+and+computers&btnG=Google+Search

Windows XP Home Edition is a great easy-to-use interface. Though it isn't free, it comes with a lot of things and is very supportive. Microsoft will have an answer to any of your needs. So in conclusion, Windows XP Home Edition is very easy-to-use and user friendly. Hope this helps :)

Well, America Online is pretty user friendly. It has pictures and "You've Got Mail" to click on. My mother was 85 and used AOL. I don't think she could ever have gotten the hang of the regular Internet.

Unfortunately, it's not free.
