I want to keep my ideas organized but on my computer instead of a blog online. Something that would be more suitable would be a book writer of some sort that I could keep chapters and topics organized.

I have these 50 MB home movies on my website that take forever for people to download. Sure, I can compress them down to a couple megs--as an mp4 or avi file--but then they look like crap! So what's the best file compression format that preserves quality??

I am trying to convert my 007-Casino Royale.avi video file to mp4 format, but every time i convert it and I play it the voice of the people in the movie doesn't match up with the movement of their mouths. Ithink it has something to do with the audio bit rate, but I'm not sure. Also, when I try right click on the video file to view the bit rate, it doesn't have the information. I am currently using Xilisoft iPod video Converter.

I need a file converter to listen to certain files in .mp3. I have .wma files that I need to be mp3's so I can use my other program to edit something. Basically, I want to listen to a couple of select songs reversed, but my program doesn't use .wma's. So, I need to convert these .wma's. to mp3s. I used the Switch downloads, but my trial ended.

Ok, So I just bought a new HP Laptop with Windows Vista: Home Premium Edition preinstalled. I also purchased a genuine copy of the OS (Operating System) on CD so I could load VIsta onto my Gateway Laptop (Its a little older but the sticker says "Designed For Windows XP, Windows Vista Capable." So, I loaded it and my HP Laptop blurs whatever is behind the screen at the time (up where the Close, Minimise, and Restore buttons are.) But my Gateway Laptop doesn't, so how do I get it to. Sorry I'm awesome with XP but Vista giving me a little trouble. Thanks alot, Brodster

I primaraly use my Desktop as a gaming platform and my laptop for all the other things. It's my understanding that Windows Vista is a real resource HOG. This would tell me that I REALLY should not bother with an "upgrade" on the desktop, and since resources are limited enough on a laptop I should avoid it there too. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I want to try vista but im too woried so what do you think? if not then Linux? But which Linux should I try? I was hoping for a 64bit version, I want to do a dual os system, and i have xpsp2 home now installed and running. I want to do dual screen with my lcd screen and my HDTV but on windows i get BSOD. I also want to be able to use pc as a dvr. And i need to be able to copy dvds from DL to single layer (i use dvd shrink and dvdfab on xp right now) I know my way around a computer really well, way above average but not like 1337. I know how to use the command prompt and some programming, so if you could point me to the version you think would would be best for me that would be so cool and Thanks

CPU: Pentium D 805 2 cores
2x DVD-rw / ram
HD: 320 SATA II
HD: 200 EIDE
HD: 40 EIDE
mem: 2x1GB 800mhz clocked to 667 because motherboard does not support 800
video: 6800 xt 256mb (maybe SLI one day if i buy another)

I want to either hide or disable the system tray in windows 98 se OS.Does anyone know registry settings for hide the System tray?

I'm working with some documents and I need to copy and paste within a PDF file. I can't seem to use Photoshop because when I save it as a .pdf from Photoshop it looks grainy. Thanks!

I formated my windows to install the new vista and its an orginal CD but when i restarted my computer nothing happened althought it has to run from the CD.
I changed the boot thing and my CD driver is 1-Boot now but still nothing happened is it like that every where that Vista needs to be installed fron another windows or there is a way to install it without it?
