Firstly make sure that your current computer hardware can support windows vista. Download Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor from microsoft site:

If your computer supports vista, then buy the vista dvd from microsoft or one of its retailers online and then you can install vista from the dvd. The setup is pretty self explanatory and easy. It is better if you install the os on a seperate harddisk.

Windows Vista is not a software, its called operating System(OS).
To load or install windows vista you need to buy the OS or download it. Before doing so, check the system requirement for installing Windows Vista. If your system matches the requirement, its easy to start. First, restart the computer and press the Delete key, were you enter into the BIOS, check the boot sequence, if CDROM is the first boot device no need to make any change otherwise you'll have to change it to CDROM. After that save and exit from the BIOS. The computer will automatically restart. Put your Windows Vista CD-1 in your CD drive, and the installation process begins, the main difficult part for freshers is to find drivers for some of your hardware, because Windows Vista doesn't support some drivers.

You need to download or buy software which are Vista compatible. Check the requirements of the software before you buy.

Very firstly insert software CD into CD RW drive and then it will work automatically the process will go through a wizard in which you will have to click on next-next button. And it will provide you every necessary information in this process. Some software required restart your computer after completing installation process.
