Contrary to what the first answer said, this has nothing to do with speakers but with an audio driver. Your mistake was upgrading to an OS that is unproven and incompatible with a lot of existing hardware. Try reinstalling your old version of Windows. Alternatively, rip out your sound card and buy a new one that says it is compatible with Windows Vista.

Obviously you dont have an audio output device "speakers or headphones" in simple terms. Plug some in, this should stop it. If not your computers got a problem and call the manufacturer of your computer.

That sounds like your device's driver isn't Vista compatible yet - you might want to check to see if they have an updated driver available. Call the hardware manufacturer for an update. Who made your sound card? Is it a built-in hardware (part of motherboard) or is it a discrete board (separate sound card, not part of motherboard).
