Don't, Ha! I been using 2000 for, Hm well since it came out.
Wait I give you a link for a Free CD Burner and it even Burn ISO Files.
OK, go here; https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto
Do not worry that this a Linux Site. Scroll down and Find Infra Recorder and down load it. I have Windows 2000 Pro and "Nero" and some other burning stuff. I use Infra Recorder most! AND, It Free, just like Linux!
IF, you already have XP, just put it in the CD drive and be sure in BIOS the CD is your first boot drive. Shut down, restart and do what XP ask. A full install will erase "EVERYTHING" files, pictures etc. AND a Upgrade just install what needed on top of 2000.
OK, I am burning a OS Boot of Linux and started the computer with the link for XP Pro. Now, I have never bought anything from this site and can say no more than here XP Pro for $86, but, there is a shipping fee. Also, I not sure of the year model, but, it does have SP2. :-p You should be able to either Upgrade OR do a full install, your choice. Just do a backup of what you want to keep should you go Full Install.
