i have Windows professional 2000, my friends got a bunch of spyware and viruses on it, i used a few anti virus programs to

fix it but it got rid of the viruses but now my computer will not get past saying "windows is starting up" and than it will

try to start up again, i can start it up in safe mode but that is it, i think i erased some of the important parts that

actually run windows, is their a program that can fix the coponets in windows without having to reboot the computer to

factory settings???

As you probably know, Demonoid registrations are closed to invite-only. There's a particular torrent that I need to get, and only Demonoid has it. If anybody has a code, please send it to my email address nerf12345@yahoo.com. Thanks in advance.

I'm always a little concerned that proposed updates, like Windows or Firefox, which are downloaded automatically and then display a message which I'm supposed to click if I want to install, might actually be spyware or badware from a phisher.

Of course I want the updates and it's practical to have them download automatically but is there a risk of installing software with bad intentions?

The last one (Firefox) apparently doesn't even give me a choice. It is ready and informs me that it will execute the next time I startup the program.

I have a friend who got a computer from a relative. she wanted to make changes to the computer, removing programs, adding programs, changing settings, etc: But could not do so because she did not have the password to the administrator side, and her cousin no longer remembered the password. So what does she need to do to solve this problem? Can just removing the BIOS battery reset everything?

My husband is insanely jealous with no foundation. He constantly asks if I'm cheating on him and has started checking which web sites I visit on the internet. I recently booked a hotel for a surprise romantic weekend with him and he confronted me with suggestions I'm seeing another man. how is he checking the sites I've visited?

I'll never understand why hackers (the malicious type) deliberately harm someone else's computer. I don't see what kind of benefit a malicious hacker can receive from trashing another person's computer. People pay good money for their computers, but then some hacker installs malicious software with their knowing it - that's so disrespectful and outrageous.

Can someone please tell me what possesses malicious hackers to do the things they do?
