While AVG isn't horrible, it isn't the best free anti virus software out there. I would personally download Avast antivirus. It seems to do a better job on caching viruses and has 7 different live scanners which keep your computer secure while using Limewire, the Internet, Microsoft Outlook, IM, LAN and files. It also has a firewall option (since it has a live scanner which scans everything network/internet wide your computer does).
Download at www.avast.com.

CCleaner does a great job at cleaning old internet files. The first time you run it it may clean over 1GB of space taken by old internet files. www.ccleaner.com

There is none that I am aware of that integrates them all that is free. But you can install them all individually and keep them updated.

My recommendations for free security software on a windows pc are:

AVG for antivirus http://www.grisoft.com

Clamwin for 2nd layer on-demand antivirus http://www.clamwin.com

spybot for anti-spyware http://www.safer-networking.org

Adaware free for second second level anit-spyware

Hijackthis to check for startup and browser helper changers to the registry.

Zonealarm for a free active firewall

Firefox for safer web browsing http://www.getfirefox.com

Thunderbird for safer email with built in anti-spam http://www.getfirefox.com

Thats about it, just remember anything you download you should scan with both avg and clam first. Any attachment you receive you should scan before opening. Also a password on windows and encrypting data that is important is another very good idea. You can use windows built in encryption or look at trucrypt http://www.truecrypt.org/. Then you will have a very secure safe computer.

I think a little more info from you would help, especially in regard to "risky behaviors", and how pro-active you are in maintaining your own computer.

- how many users are on this computer?
- are any of them teens or young adults?
- does anyone do a lot of downloading - ie music, videos, games, etc?
- how experienced are the users of your computer?
- what type of internet connection do you have?
- have you ever had any virus/infection on your computer?
- what operating system are you running?
- do you perform any routine maintenance tasks?

There are lots of free software, some of which can do an excellent job, while others can be not what they purport to be.

Always do your own research when given a recommendation!

HTH : )
Good luck!

Use nod32 (http://www.eset.com) for virus protection and zonealarm (http://www.zonealarm.com) as a firewall.
