File-Sharing
LimeWire, BitTorrent and BearShare...Oh My!

The legality of sharing copyrighted files continues to be in question. But what's not up for debate is that file-sharing is huge and here to stay.

A college student being sued by that RIAA for downloading 199 songs off limewire Article says more lawsuits to come. Riaa been seding emails to limewire users stating that if they dont pay the 4 to 6 rhousand dollar settlement they will be sued

If you don't want to be sued don't do anything against the law even if a program allows you to do so , cause it's only a matter of time before the law will catch up with you . Thats life

Limewire itself is perfectly legal. It is the files that people share on it that may be illegal.

One of the questions before install asks if you are going to use it to download copyrighted materials. If you chose yes it will exit.

Of course it is legal. The files shared it what is illegal. If it is a music/movie/program and you did not pay for it, yes it is illegal.

since it's free, I don't think so! Nothing legal comes for free anymore.
