My husband is insanely jealous with no foundation. He constantly asks if I'm cheating on him and has started checking which web sites I visit on the internet. I recently booked a hotel for a surprise romantic weekend with him and he confronted me with suggestions I'm seeing another man. how is he checking the sites I've visited?

Probably just reading the history. You can clear it in a number of ways if you don't want him snooping but I guess that would just make him worse, he'd then assume you were covering your tracks because you had something to hide.

My ex-husband was of a similar nature and it can ruin relationships. What starts out as seeming like being lovingly protective can easily turn into the totally oppressive, jealous, control freak that we all dread. He obviously has very low self-esteem to believe that you wouldn't want to be with him. Check out relate before it all gets out of hand and maybe they can offer help, for him or both of you.
Good luck

Probably just clicking on your history. See the little triangle next to this webpage up top? See the work "History" between "View and "Bookmarks?" See the "Tools" prompt? There are LOTS of ways he could check this. But THAT is not your problem. I have three suggestions:

1. I hate to even ask this, but are you sure there is no foundation whatsoever? If not, then fine. I'm not accusing you of anything. But think about it and make sure there is no reason for him to be concerned. If there isn't, then move on to the next two things...

2. You might want to check what HE has been looking at. More times than not a obsessively jealous husband acts so because HE is guilty. It may well be that HE is cheating on YOU. Tread carefully.

3. Marriage counseling. You two obviously have some problems that will not be resolved without a professional mediator to help you identify the REAL problems and to find constructive solutions. I suggest making an appointment right away, then talking to him about it. Tell him you want to see the counselor and already made the appointment. If he won't go, then go yourself.

Good luck!

Tools >> Internet Options >> Temporary Internet Files Settings >> Show files

or else he could just be looking through the history by clicking the history button on your toolbar.

You can delete all this by going to Tools >> Interent Options click delete files, delete cookies and also clear history.

Hope this helps

This will all depend on the level of ability of your husband.

The most obvious way that he will be checking this will be by simply checking through the history of your Internet files. This can be cleared quite easily in the settings of your browser.

If you are aware of this way of checking your Internet connection and have already 'covered your tracks', then he could be keylogging you.

Keyloggers allow a computer used to monitor the keystrokes (What you type in) and activity of a user and are often used by black hat hackers to gather personal information about somebody.

No. That would not be a reasonable assumption since your browsing history is attached solely to your computer's memory and has nothing to do with your WI-Fi connection. What he can do is access any shared files on your computer if you share a Home Group with him. You can just disable that from your control panel if that's the case. And a bit of advice, if you are browsing something that you don't particularly want your invasive brother to find, I recommend using google chrome. It comes with a feature called google incognito, which allows you to browse freely without leaving any traces of your activity.

He most likely is checking your "history" and as mentioned, this is incredibly simple to do.

Do NOT follow everyone else's advice to start clearing out your history and cookies. If you do start "covering your tracks", it will look as if you've got something to hide.

If he's checking out which web sites you visit, there's no telling what steps he might want to take next. Your best bet is to confront him and get this all settled out. If you cannot ease his suspicions, then perhaps marriage counseling can help.

hes going into your history, which basically means he can look at what sites have been visited within the last week. If you have the newer version of explorer, there should be a yellow star up in the top left hand corner of the screen. click on this and click on history at the top. hope this helps

All of the answers above are correct, but if your husband is very good he could install a program that records your screen at all times. You can't even see the program it's hidden, only with a password from him can he view anything and everything you have been doing on the computer.

You can just clear the history files in the internet options folder. If you are using google / msn / yahoo search engines you can clear the history by clicking the appropriate link in the drop down menus.

Mind you by the sound of it this may only serve to antagonise your husband more by making him think you are really trying to hide something from him.

easily , everything on your computer can be traced meaning
cookies urls and even if you delete stuff there are programs
that can recover everything you did online, the only way to
get rid of data is to smash the hard drive with a sledge hammer
(literally)
