Click start
Click control panel
Click add.remove
Scroll to the pop up blocker and click remove
I had this problem with a pop up blocker called stopzilla. I couldn't open any links in ,my emails and couldn't understand why, a guy who works with computers called and found after 2 hours that the pop up blocker was causing the problem, he removed it and the problem disappeared.

Is it on your taskbar (i.e a google pop up blocker)? If so all you need to do is actually click it and it turns it from "pop ups blocked" to "pop ups okay" - hope this helps!
