I adopted a dog on the internet... I had her send me pics of the dog and a piece of paper with my name on it to make sure the dog actually existed. Well, to make a VERY long story short, I am without a dog and I lost FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS! I payed her through paypal. Is there ANY POSSIBLE WAY that I can get my money back?

i don't know if it's a virus or a worm, since it got to my laptop, everytime i open an explrer it automatically goes to "quicknews.info" even though i have set yahoo.com as my home page. when i'm using yahoo messenger, the people that i'm chatting with constantly receives an invite to visit quicknews.info for pictures and images, i think they are viruses. i have ran anti-virus and anti-spyware, the report always involve a malware so i always do what is recommended, to clean and to quarantine it. the next time i run anti-virus and anti-spyware, the "proble" seems to not exist anymore, but when i open the explorer, it's the same thing. quicknews.info still exists. the worst thing about it is when chatting, i'm afraid that i could affect other users. please can you help me???? i'm using now my desktop pc, do i need to reformat my laptop? i am using avg anti-spyware and anti-virus (the free ones, hehehe). help, help, help!!!

I found one strange statement from a site when I queried them about some spyware. I was told to let them know which spyware and they would contact the company to find out the best way to get rid of it.
Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the spyware guys supposed to be the bad guys? Companies???? hmmm
I realize that there are problems involved in attacking a virus sending source, but surely no bigger ones than the efforts at
defence to stop them.
I don't know of any war that was ever won in defense mode. if their attacks caused more problems for themselves than the people they attack, it would seem reasonable that those attacks would lessen or even stop.
Why are there no programs out there 'now' that can attack the source of a virus, even past the automatic sender bugs that are out there? Is there any research into that kind of program/s? I am totally frustrated in being attacked with no way to combat the attackers. Is there no way to turn this war around?

My home page is set to Yahoo, but whenever I open Explorer, it sends me to http://asafetylist.com/ which is supposed to be some type of Virus cleaner. Seems a little odd to me. How do I fix it so I'm not taken to this stupid Web site? Any help will be appreciated.

Some sites I go to have 2 or 3 choices for the password or username autofill that appears on a dropdown menu. Usually one is a past account or some kind of typo that I did once. How do you go in and remove one of the remembered accounts so it will autofill directly into the site's forms? Mac OS 10.2.8 and Netscape 7.2

Situation:

A reporter in Baghdad must send a secure message to the home office. The only option is to use a local coffee/ internet cafe. When setting up a VPN connection (RSA key fob, or other) can the initial setup be monitored by keystroke monitoring software? (most likely: yes)

Now, the real question is ... once the VPN is created, can the keystroke monitoring software still intercept the author's individual keystrokes as they are being sent into the VPN connection, or are they immediately obscured/ encrypted/ etc and therefore private?
